Transition Team

The Transition Team is a course of study designed to assist the intermediate student with the journey from Suzuki to Advanced. While partially continuing their studies in the Suzuki repertoire, they begin supplementing from the vast array of wonderful classical music at an intermediate level. Congratulations on making it this far!

Their group classes are a sampling of the classes Advanced and Aspiring Young Artists take. During a semester, they may learn a chamber piece for the first half and experience the sight reading class for the remainder of the semester. They may also choose a group class from our Alternative Music Program - Guitar Channel, Fiddling, Violin Improv, and more!

Transition Team students work towards greater independence in home practice and lesson preparation, and usually participate in the area's youth orchestras in Norwalk and Bridgeport. This is a great time to take a semester of piano for basic proficiency, or to experiment with other new instruments through your public school's string and band programs. They are advanced enough now that their knowledge should transfer quickly and a new instrument - just for fun - will be easy! This is a very rewarding time of study!
