The Aspiring Young Artists© (AYA) program is a pre-conservatory course of study designed to enhance the musical pursuits of any student who wishes to further their studies. Any student at level Suzuki book six and above may audition for the program. There are four levels of study, ranging from the Mozart Concerti to the extraordinary Paganini Caprices. Any student may enroll in any AYA group class, provided they are book 6 and above, without being part of the AYA program. |
All students must meet a specific level of achievement in repertoire, scales, technique, and chamber experience before applying to the AYA© program. |
All students have course requirements to fulfill before graduating from any level. Advancement is according to the student’s pace with guidance from their instructors. There are no time limitations or expectations for completion of any level. |
All classes are designed to heighten the student’s awareness musical concepts, performance skills and ensemble playing. Not all classes will be offered every semester. |
Any student applying to the program will have an audition, theory exam, and interview. All of these are intended to provide the instructors with an insight to the student and their competency level. Acceptance into the AYA© program is heavily weighed on the student’s desire to study at a more intensive pace. |
