Performance Activities

The study of music is the study of art, and a primary purpose of art is self-expression.  Performance lends meaning to practice, and students are much more interested in practicing when they know there is a performance coming up!  Group performances are intended to contribute to our community and generally include performances at nursing homes, community events, and fund-raising events for other artistic or child-oriented organizations.  Solo performances are generally recitals intended to give the child an opportunity to share their music on a more personal level with friends, family, and peers.  No performance opportunity should be viewed as a reason to be nervous or worried, but rather an opportunity to celebrate all of the student’s hard work and accomplishments as they discover the joy music brings to others.

Why Performing is so Important
